Let It Rip: Mileage fee to fund road repairs

Posted: Updated:
Part 1: Raising the Mich. minimum wage

As fast food workers across the country demand a minimum wage of $15 an hour, lawmakers in Lansing struck a deal for much less. The Michigan Senate has agreed to raise the minimum wage to $9.20 an hour. Some say the increase is not enough. Other say the Republicans sold out.

On the panel:

Sen. Bert Johnson, (D) 2nd District
Sen. Morris Hood III, (D) 3rd District
Lee Gaddies, Raise Michigan Coalition
Rocky Raczkowski, Michigan GOP

Part 2: Mileage fee to fund road repairs

A study conducted by the University of Michigan outlines the pros and cons of implementing a mileage fee for Michigan drivers. It suggests that charging drivers based on their actual miles driven can raise as much money needed to solve Michigan's road funding crisis.

Is this the right way to fund road repairs?

On the panel:

Sen. Bert Johnson, (D) 2nd District
Sen. Morris Hood III, (D) 3rd District
Rep. Tom McMillin, (R) 45th District
Henry Payne, 'Detroit News' auto critic
FOX 2 legal analyst Charlie Langton

Part 3: Let It Rip On the Road: Mileage fee to fund road repairs

Fox 2's Charlie Langton takes Let It Rip on the road to find out how metro Detroit feels about implementing a mileage fee to fund road repairs.
