Bicyclist killed in hit-and-run in Livonia

LIVONIA, Mich. (WJBK) - Police in Livonia are looking for a hit-and-run driver after a bicyclist was struck and killed.

Dennis Ryan rode his bike several miles each day to visit his disabled son. He had visited his son Monday and spent the afternoon with him. Ryan was riding home when he was killed.

His niece, Chelsea Ryan, says he was trying to make it home before dark.

Dennis was riding northbound on Newburgh Road and crossing eastbound Schoolcraft Road, which is right over I-96, when he was struck.

Livonia police say four people stopped at the scene and called 911, but no one saw the actual crash. Police say it was dark when the accident happened.
