Metro-North and Amtrak train service in Connecticut was disrupted for the second time in two weeks by a the  failure of an old bridge in Norwalk.

Officials with Metro-North said the tracks were closed in both directions in South Norwalk Friday afternoon because the rotating Walk Bridge got stuck again in the open position, which allows boats to pass through along the Norwalk River.

Some service resumed about 6 p.m. but Metro-North says service likely will be disrupted through the evening.

The century-old bridge also got stuck May 29 and snarled travel for thousands of commuters during the morning rush. Connecticut officials say the cause was a gear failure.

Buses were being provided for rail passengers between South Norwalk and East Norwalk. Service between Stamford and Manhattan wasn't affected.

Hundreds of passengers gave up waiting for the buses and started walking to the next station.

It's a running joke that if you mention the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center to nearly anyone in Hollywood they're going to know exactly what you're talking about because odds are they might have gotten their first big break there. Would you believe some Hollywood's biggest stars -- Meryl Streep, Michael Douglas, Angela Bassett -- got their start in a big red barn in the middle of nowhere.
