DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -
The DeKalb Board of Health captured a rabid bat on June 4 in the Regent Manor area.
According to the DeKalb County Police Dept.'s Facebook page, pet owners should make sure their animals are vaccinated against rabies, annually.
They also say, "anyone who has been bitten or scratched by a wild animal should seek medical attention immediately."
Any residents who notice their pets acting unusually nervous, aggressive, have excessive drooling or are observed foaming at the mouth are encouraged to contact DeKalb County Animal Control at 404-294-2996.
