The man accused of killing a Griffin police officer was officially booked into the Spalding County Jail Wednesday.
Michael Dwayne Bowman made his first court appearance Wednesday morning and was denied bond.
Kevin Jordan was shot dead while working security at a Griffin Waffle House.
Jordan was trying to handcuff a woman who had been kicked out of the restaurant, when Bowman shot him in the back.
Bowman was shot by Raymond Jordan, the brother of Officer Jordan, during the incident.
Jordan's funeral service was held at Oak Hill Baptist Church in the town of Williamson in Pike County.
Jordan was laid to rest at Westwood Gardens Cemetery.
