Chicago Blues Festival kicks-off Friday in Chicago

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The largest free blues festival in the world will be held this weekend in Grant Park.

The Chicago Blues Festival will take place from Friday, June 13 until Sunday, June 15 at Grant Park. The event is still the largest of Chicago’s Music Festivals.

The event may only last three days, but it takes place on five stages with more than 500,000 blues fans in attendance. Fans from all over will flock to the area to prove that Chicago is the “Blues Capital of the World.”

Friday will kick-off the event with Billy Boy Arnold. Saturday’s headliner will be Bettye LaVette and Dr. John will close out the festival Sunday.

Past performers included Ray Charles, Bonnie Raitt, Koko Taylor and more!
