A Los Angeles Superior Court Judge has ruled Casey Kasem should be fed and given all needed medication while he is hospitalized in Washington State.
That as Kasem’s wife, Jean, went to court fighting an earlier ruling that made Kerri Kasem, Casey’s daughter from an earlier marriage, his temporary conservator. While Kerri is in charge to oversee Kasem’s medicare care, Jean Kasem alleges her stepdaughter is trying to kill Kasem by placing her father on an IV drip, with something similar to a morphine type drug. Jean Kasem claims the radio legend has been communicating with her through his eye and hand movements, telling her he wants to live. Through her attorney, Kerri Kasem, says her father’s treatment has been ordered by his doctor, and not by her.
The former host of the radio show, American Top 40, remains in critical condition suffering from dementia and Lewy body disease, which has left the 82 year old personality unable to speak and gravely ill.
Another hearing is set for Friday, as the Judge considers a petition from Jean Kasem to replace her stepdaughter as her husband’s temporary conservator.
