FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. -
Forsyth County deputies have arrested a man for allegedly dragging a dog behind his vehicle.
Miguel Lechuga Sanchez, 41, of Cumming was arrested and charged with DUI, driving on a suspended license and animal cruelty after deputies received a call about him dragging a German Shepherd behind his pick-up truck.
The call came in to authorities at around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. According to the caller, Sanchez used the dog's leash to suspend the animal from the truck while he drove down Ronald Reagan Boulevard.
Authorities were able to catch up to Sanchez, take him into custody, free the dog and transport him to a veterinarian. The dog suffered injuries to his front paws and bruising around his neck.
Sanchez is currently being held at the Forsyth County Detention Center on a $4680.50 bond.
