Pa. Attorney General Releases Report On Jerry Sandusky Investigation

Posted: Updated:
HARRISBURG, Pa. -

Pennsylvania's Attorney General said in a press conference on Monday that the Jerry Sandusky investigation took too long because of crucial missteps, and there's an even more stunning revelation.

Fox 29's Jeff Cole was in Harrisburg for the long-awaited release of the Attorney General's findings.

There was always a "concern" that serial child predator, Jerry Sandusky had "abused" others while state prosecutors built the case that put him in jail.

Today, the Attorney General says two victims claim he did.

In a blockbuster claim, Attorney General Kane says two victims say they were sexually abused by Jerry Sandusky in the fall of 2009; months after then Attorney General Tom Corbett opened the investigation.

The statement came at the end of a press conference Kane held Monday to unveil her review of Corbett's handling of the investigation.

And it was immediately attacked by the lead prosecutor in the case.

Kane reviewed the Sandusky prosecution as part of a campaign pledge to answer why it took some 35 months to charge the child predator, and whether politics played a role, especially Corbett’s plan to run for governor.

Attorney Geoffrey Moulton led the review.

The heavy, dense report does state the Sandusky probe took too long and mistakes were made including a delay in searching Sandusky's home where pictures of victims and a list if boys were found.

Kane provided little detail about those two victims, except to say they did not take the stand in the Sandusky trial, and they didn't want charges brought.

Word of these victims does not appear in Kane's press release about her findings.

In a statement, Governor Corbett says the investigation was done "appropriately and in a timely manner."
