Palm Bay detectives searching for suspected bank robber

PALM BAY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 News) - By: Ashley Gipson. Police say the suspect walked into the bank off Malabar Road with a large envelope and approached a teller and demanded cash. Investigators say the suspect also implied he had a weapon.

Officials say the branch manager called 9-1-1 but the suspect got away, fleeing on foot northbound behind the bank through the Interchange Square shopping plaza. Patrol officers say they used a K-9 track to search the area but the suspect was not found.

Investigators say bank surveillance cameras show the suspect talking on a cell phone during the crime.

Officials say the suspect is described as a  black male, approximately 6ā€™0 tall wearing a black ā€œDCā€ brand shirt, light colored shorts, dark shoes, white framed sunglasses, and a red and black cap with white insignia.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Central Florida CRIMELINE at 1-800-423-TIPS. Caller can remain anonymous and may be eligible for cash rewards up to $1000 in this case.
