ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) - The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a child in Orange County.

Florida Highway Patrol investigators say a mother called 911 Friday around 9:30 p.m. saying her three-year-old girl was hit by a car in the parking lot of Grandview Pointe apartments.
 
According to a report, the mother started driving her child to the hospital, but was advised to wait for first responders. She then pulled over at John Young Parkway and Americana Boulevard. Shortly after, emergency responders transported the child to Arnold Palmer Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Doctors say the girl’s injuries are consistent with being struck by a vehicle.
 
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, there is no information about the vehicle at this time. The investigation continues.
