NORTH PHILADELPHIA-Philadelphia Police responded to the Shoprite located on the 3700 block of Aramingo Avenue after they were alerted to a report of children being left unattended inside a SUV in the parking lot on Tuesday around 11 a.m.

According to authorities, the children ranged in age, from 6 months to 9-years-old, and were from an in-home daycare. Investigators say that  the daycare operator, Karin Thompson, was inside the store shopping.

The children were taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital for evaluation as a precaution, then they were taken to the Special Victims Unit. The children are said to be in good condition.

Thompson was transported to Special Victims Unit where she charged with: 5 counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child; 5 counts of Reckless Endangering another Person.
