VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) - Emergency management officials in Volusia County are closely tracking Arthur's path to stay ahead of this storm

The emergency management center is on standby for any hazardous conditions.

The county also has three emergency shelters on standby in the event of flooding in the area, but they say they don't anticipate having to use them.

Beach patrol flew the red flag Tuesday afternoon warning swimmers of hazardous rip currents, and rough conditions.

Officials say there were about 21 rescues on Tuesday which is fairly normal.
Beach patrol will be fully staffed for the busy holiday weekend, operating about 80 lifeguard towers.

Beach patrol says visitors might see some of their beaches closed to beach driving because of high tide.
