APOPKA, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
Rescue crews discovered a body after searching for a missing swimmer in an Apopka-area lake. Someone called 911 just after 6 p.m. on Wednesday, reporting they saw a swimmer in distress near a boat in the middle of the Cub Lake.
Rescue crews sent divers into the water, two at a time. They found the body along the north shore of the lake just before 7 p.m.
"Seminole County Sheriff's Office and Seminole County Fire Department responded to the area behind me, where they found the body of aa deceased white male in the water," said Florida Fish and Wildlife spokesman Byron Smith.
FWC is heading up the investigation. They have not been able to identify the victim and are asking anyone who may have information to call the Seminole County Sheriff's Office.
