PHOENIX (KSAZ) - We have new details about what forced an American Airlines flight to make an emergency landing at Sky Harbor Airport.

The plane was traveling from San Diego to Dallas when something happened on board that caused the pilots to make an unscheduled landing.

A passenger captured some shocking video of what happened on board that flight.

In the cell phone video, you see an unruly plane passenger being restrained by other passengers.

"They got him back in his seat, made him put on his seatbelt, and then he took it off, and he was saying he was going to the cockpit, why? I don't know," said Lynn Willis.

Willis was sitting directly in front of the man on the American Airlines flight from San Diego to Dallas. The FBI and Phoenix Police are not discussing what happened on the flight. Willis said that the plane made an emergency landing after he made a commotion and then began stabbing himself.

"I turned around, and he had like a nail clipper all open with the file, trying to stab himself in the stomach," she said.

Willis then caught the aftermath on her cell phone.

"I just took my phone, I don't know why, and video taped it, thinking if something happened to me my husband would be able to see this video and see who hurt me," said Willis.

She said the passengers and flight crew were able to restrain the man, even calming him down.

Phoenix Police boarded the plane at Sky Harbor and took him away. No one was hurt, but a full flight rattled by what could have happened continued to Dallas.

"He just seemed like it was his first flight; he was scared, and he didn't really speak much english, he was scared but he scared everyone around him you know, the flight was full," said Willis.
