PALM BAY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) - Seven Palm Bay teenagers, between the ages of 16 and 12, were arrested last Friday for attempting to break into cars along Massini Ave, according to a recently released arrest report.

The report identified an off-duty Melbourne police officer and his wife as the pair responsible for helping to catch the alleged criminals, who police say were attempting to break into cars in broad daylight.

The report says the off-duty officer told his wife to call 911 when he spotted the teens pulling on car door handles in his neighborhood.  When he confronted them, he said the teens ran away. The report goes on to state that the officer chased down two of them, and his wife took cellphone pictures of the rest.

When police arrived, they used the pictures to positively identify all of the suspects. Each were charged with attempted car burglary and were transported to juvenile hall.
