On this edition, we kick things off with fireworks over fireworks.  Some believe it's time to repeal Michigan's 2012 law that allowed the sale of more types of fireworks.  They're sick of all the noise and injuries that came with it.  There's an online petition that's garnered more than 10,000 signatures calling for state lawmakers to scrap it.  Also, some local mayors have joined the fight, including Warren's own Jim Fouts, who joins us to make the case increased restrictions for most fireworks.  On the other side, we have James Stajos, the owner of Pro Fireworks, which has several locations throughout the state.  He thinks Mayor Fouts is going too far in enforcing his city's own fireworks ordinances, and says the people of Michigan have already spoken on this issue by passing the 2012 law.

Next, we have an interesting, and surprisingly contentious, discussion about putting seat belts on school buses.  State Rep. Bob Kosowski (D-Wayne/Westland) explains his proposed legislation to require new school buses to have belts.  But Madison Heights Superintendent Randy Speck thinks the cost (about $7,000 - 9,000 per vehicle) is too much for local districts to absorb.  Speck also says (with statistics from the NHTSA) that school buses are already one of the safest form of transportation in the world.
