CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Professional stuntman Ethan Swanson took quite the leap off a rooftop in Chicago.

The video has more than 900,000 views on YouTube. FOX 32 News caught up with the man behind the stunt.

"My day job, I’m an actuary; so sitting behind a desk, doing calculations. Real calculated work, not very risky," Swanson said.

Twenty-four-year-old Swanson’s hobby on the other hand is just a bit more risky. He’s been jumping off of rooftops for a long time.

“My parents told me horror stories about, before I can even remember, me jumping off the roof and then finding me rolling around in the grass. What are you doing? And I'm like, I’m just jumping off the roof," he added.

Swanson has been doing gymnastics since he was young. He loves the thrill of the jump.

“You see the end product, but what you don't see is all of the hours, days and weeks and months and years that I’ve put into, in a training environment that has pads and foam pits. I can train and I do screw up, but when I do it's in a safe place so that when I fall, I don't get hurt," Swanson said.

His YouTube channel has since caught the attention of "Go-Pro."

Plus, this certainly isn't the end for Swanson, who said that there are more stunts to come.

“I do, I have a couple, but I have to go out and scout them out and take measurements to see if it's possible first," he added.

Swanson won't say just yet where his next stunt might be. Also, he said he hasn't run into any issues with the law, but if he is asked to leave property, he will comply.

The video was shot 100 percent on the HD HERO3 GoPro camera.

Swanson was also on the TV series American Ninja Warrior. The video on YouTube is called ‘Epic Roof Jump.’
