Local Companies Partner To Make "Green" Beer

Posted: Updated:
Since it seems like there's a day for everything, get this -- today is "International Beer Day!"  And one local brewing company is celebrating not only its beverage, but also the packaging.

Red Hare Brewing Company in Marietta has partnered with Atlanta-based Novelis, an aluminum rolling company.  Red Hare beer cans now bear the "Evercan" logo -- that means the cans are at least 90%
recycled aluminum.  Red Hare founder Roger Davis says the partnership was a no-brainer -- he says cans are overall better packaging for beer, and that the high-recycled-content cans continue their dedication to being environmentally friendly.

Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken went to Red Hare Brewing Company to see the canning process in action.  Click the video above to check it out!
