(WJBK) - The National Weather Service has issued flood advisory for Lenawee, Monroe, Washtenaw and Wayne counties until 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Weather Authority Alan Longstreet says the rain will arrive mid to late morning and may last for much of the afternoon and evening before tapering off. Thunder is possible, but severe weather shouldn't be an issue.

Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause minor flooding to occur, especially along small streams and near low water crossings. Some locations that will experience minor flooding  include Adrian, Ann Arbor, Blissfield, Canton, Carleton, Chelsea, Dexter, downtown Detroit, Dundee, Flat rock, Grosse Pointe, Hudson, Livonia, Manchester, Milan, Monroe, Morenci, Romulus, Saline, Taylor, Tecumseh, Temperance, Ypsilanti, Addison, Belleville, Britton, Cement City, Clayton, Clinton and Dearborn.

Excessive runoff from this storm will cause minor flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
