OAK FOREST, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

An indoor shooting range, complete with a retail store and seminar training rooms, is coming to the southwest suburbs, the SouthtownStar is reporting.

The Eagle Gun Club will open the 30,000-square-foot building at 5900 W. 159th St. in Oak Forest, former site of Community Motors, early next year, a statement from the city said.

The club hopes to attract gun enthusiasts, as well as regional and national shooting competitions, by creating an “inviting, upscale environment that is representative of an elite sporting club,” according to the statement.

It also feature climate-controlled indoor shooting bays—six long-range and 22 short-range—along with a bow range, firearm and retail space, training simulator, viewing area, gunsmith shop and private member lounges.

Plans also call for meeting rooms for concealed-carry classes, safety seminars, instructional sport shooting and self-defense training.

According to the Illinois Secretary of State's website, the Eagle Gun Club lists Omar Ahmad and Islam Zughayer as officers.

Ahmad did not immediately respond to an emailed request for comment.
