(WJBK) - The FBI, state, county and local police executed a search investigating the murder of Armada teen April Millsap.

Neighbors told Fox 2 that police searched the area around Marquette Road in Goodells Monday.

Investigating officers covered every inch of land looking for evidence involving the murder of the 14-year-old teen.

"There's been a lot of activity over there," said, Rhonda O'Donnell who lives nearby. "We are all wondering what the heck is going on."

FBI and Police wrapped up their search along Marquette Road at about 5 p.m. . It is unclear what they were looking for.

Daryl Wilson compared the search to a human chain and said the search focused on a field surrounding the house of 66-year-old James Bernard VanCallis and his son, 32-year-old James Donald VanCallis. Both were arrested for a marijuana grow operation last month after a search.

Two neighbors next door to the VanCallis house, after saying that a tip was called into police that the younger Van Callis had thrown something into the field, something that neighbors believe is evidence that police is searching for.

Four weeks ago April was found beaten and strangled along the Macomb Orchard Trail near her Armada home July 24.

Police say Monday that officers are still following up on tips regarding a sketch of a white man with light colored curly hair and a blue and white motorcycle.

Police are investigating a call placed on April's phone, to a number that nobody recognized. Police say their is no suspect in the case.

Millsap's family is going through a very hard time according to Jennifer Millsap, April's mother. She they are hoping anything can come from this search, thanking the community for their tips and support and asking for prayers that the killer is found.
