Armed man who threatened women outside Ferndale library identified

FERNDALE, Mich. (WJBK) - Police arrested a man with a gun after, they say, he threatened three women in the parking lot of the Ferndale Library.

The man has been identified as James Reid, 29, of Royal Oak Township.

He was arraigned Thursday on three counts of felonious assault.

The women had just left he library when it happened.

They told police the man suddenly started questioning them why they "were looking" at him.

Police say the man then walked to his vehicle, pulled out a handgun and threatened the women that he may kill them

One women called 911 and Ferndale police arrested the 29-year-old man from Royal Oak Township.  He does have a valid Concealed Pistol License.

Reid will be arraigned for three counts of felonious assault, one count for each victim.
