4 arrested in Cherokee Co. drug bust

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. -

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office confirms four arrests have been made in a drug bust at a Canton home.

According to the sheriff's office, agents of the Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad (CMANS), sheriff's deputies and members of the Cherokee Multi-Agency SWAT Team executed a search warrant around 4:00 a.m. on Friday, August 15. The home is located on Vaughn Road.

Officers arrested James Flood, 28, Manual Jose Arce, 25, Daniel Badger Franklin, 46 and 38-year-old Colleen Lucille Pelz.

Flood was charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine. Arce was charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine and Possession of a Firearm while in the Commission of Certain Crimes. Franklin was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Pelz has been charged with Possession of Methamphetamines and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, agents found almost $7,874 in cash, four firearms and 14 ounces of methamphetamine, which has a $21,000 value. They also found a small amount of Marijuana and an unknown substance, which has been handed over to the GBI.

All four suspects were taken to the Cherokee Adult Detention center in Canton.

Flood and Arce remain in custody with no bond. Franklin remains in custody with a $33,400 bond and Pelz remains behind bars with a $22,400 bond.
