Report: What's Michigan's unofficial state dessert?

(WJBK) - Slate.com just put out a list of the unofficial desserts of all 50 states.

They had a few rules when deciding which state gets what. The rules include no two states could have the same dessert, brands were not considered desserts and no state got apple pie or chocolate chip cookies.

So what did they pick for Michigan?

Fudge.

They say, "Anyone with milk, butter, sugar, and chocolate can make fudge. But the residents of Mackinac Island, Michigan have taken fudge to another level, building an entire tourist industry around it and claiming to have "perfected" it."

Some other state desserts?

Ohio: Buckeye candy
Texas: Pecan Pie
Hawaii: Shaved Ice
Georgia: Peach Cobbler
Illinois: Brownies
New York: Cheesecake
Colorado: Pot candy
