Ducey vs. Duval: 10 weeks until election day

Posted: Updated:

Fresh off his decisive victory last night, Republican gubernatorial candidate Doug Ducey appeared on FOX 10 Arizona Morning talking about his priorities if he wins the state's highest office.

"We're focusing on kickstarting our economy and focusing on education. We don't see these as partisan issues; they effect everyone across the state. The opportunity to have a job, to climb the economic ladder," said Ducey.

Democrat Fred Duval ran unopposed, but still savored victory last night; he shares Ducey's goals for our economy.

"We've got to stop cutting education, grow better jobs in Arizona, our economy is not growing the way we want it to. We've got to get more startups, get more manufacturing, we've got to recruit more businesses to Arizona," said Fred Duval.

What is Duval's stand on immigration? "Washington has so failed us, both parties. Partisan politics, I'm just sick of it, and it has failed us on the issue. Washington needs to come together on a bi-partisan basis and get this done," he said.

Ducey said if he's elected he will be a Governor we can trust.

"We are going to be transparent, like if you go to the treasurer's website today you will see the amount of money we have in our checking account. And as Governor I'm going to have that same type of transparency, we've got to build trust and keep trust with the citizens and the voters," said Ducey.
